Components of the Water Cycle
- Evaporation - Is when water escapes a body of water and turns into water vapor. The water vapor rises up into the atmosphere until the vapor can condense and become tiny droplets of water. They are so light they remain up in the atmosphere as clouds. Clouds are supported by rising air currents and winds.
- Condensation - Is when droplets of water up in the clouds form together and become small crystals of ice.
- Precipitation - Is when the crystals of ice can no longer be supported by the cloud and fall back down to Earth, and the cycle is repeated.
